About

Nordon are a proudly Australian-owned and operated business with over 50 years of experience in the hydraulic cylinder industry. Our journey began in 1972 when we opened our doors in Brisbane as a service and repair workshop. However, we quickly recognised a gap in the market and pivoted our focus to become a leading supplier of locally manufactured, well-designed cylinders. Over the years, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner to both the oil hydraulic industry and various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). Today, we manufacture approximately 30,000 high-quality cylinders each year, maintaining our commitment to Quality, Service, and Customer Satisfaction. After 50 years in the business, we remain dedicated to providing our customers with exceptional products and services.

Nordon's roots can be traced back to its beginnings as a hydraulic service business focused on mobile equipment, specifically earthmoving equipment. Over time, we expanded our expertise to encompass industrial hydraulics across a range of industries. During this period, our cylinder repair services exposed us to a wide variety of cylinder designs and strengths, giving us invaluable knowledge and experience. Leveraging the insights gained from servicing and repairing cylinders, we made the strategic decision to transition from a service and manufacturing business to a full-time manufacturing operation in the early 1990s. This move allowed us to focus exclusively on delivering the highest quality hydraulic cylinders to our customers. Since then, our cylinder manufacturing business has gained momentum, and we have established ourselves as a trusted leader in the industry. We use our extensive experience and knowledge to design and produce hydraulic cylinders that meet the unique needs of our clients across a range of applications. At Nordon, we are committed to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Over the years, Nordon has undergone significant changes, including a transition towards OEM manufacturing for hydraulic cylinders. This shift necessitated substantial investment in technology, machinery, and engineering design capacity, as we sought to remain at the forefront of the industry. As part of this transition, we relocated our factory to Brendale, where we could expand our operations and take advantage of state-of-the-art facilities. Additionally, we invested heavily in technology and machinery, including the recent addition of fully automated production cells. These advancements ensure that Nordon remains globally competitive in terms of quality and cost. At Nordon, we take pride in our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Our investments in technology and machinery allow us to deliver high-quality hydraulic cylinders that meet the needs of our clients across a range of industries. Whether you're looking for a custom-designed cylinder or a standard product, we have the expertise and resources to deliver the best possible solution for your business.

At Nordon, we recognise that cylinder design has evolved over the years, and we strive to stay at the forefront of this progress. Drawing on our industry knowledge and skilled workforce, we use modern manufacturing techniques to meet and anticipate the needs of our clients. Our team takes great pride in using the latest technology and highly developed skill sets to produce standard and industrial cylinders that meet the highest quality standards. We produce components in-house using the latest robot-loaded machining centers and welders, giving us complete control over the quality of our products at every stage of production. In 2006, Nordon introduced the NI Industrial range of cylinders, which quickly became an industry leader. This range features a complete range of standard mounting and accessories, making it easy for designers to incorporate our cylinders into their projects. Our high-grade cast and machined steel mounts are held in stock, ensuring fast delivery times and the ability to meet urgent project requirements. Our comprehensive catalog, access to 3D CAD models, and unparalleled engineering support ensures that Nordon is able to provide all your cylinder requirements. Whether you need a standard product or a custom-designed solution, we have the expertise and resources to deliver the best possible cylinder for your needs.
